Google Analytics 2.0
Posted by admin under Uncategorized, Tools, Analytics, Reporting, Reviews, Blog
Last week Google released a redesigned version of its Web Analytics tool.
According to Google, here is what they changed:
- Redesigned the reporting interface for greater customization and collaboration. Functionality of the product did not change - only the interface.
- Email and export reports
- Custom Dashboards
- Trend and Over-time Graph
- Improved contextual help tips
- New date range selector
- Sticky URLs
- PDF report with vector graphics
I’ll share my observations once I’ve had a few days to play with it.

1. The export options are incredible, many more formats than before.
2. Customizing the dashboard is incredible. I felt like they boxed you in with the previous dashboards (marketing, web developer, etc). Much of what I want to see is related to goals/funnels - so customizing the dashboard is a big plus.
3. The new date range selector is incredible. No longer do you have to guess and put in dates - just use the custom slider. Want to compare 2 date ranges? Add another slider and then compare.
Overall I love the new interface - but the above 3 is what makes it really stand out against the old version (in my opinion).
