The Karcher Group’s two day SEMMS seminar in Akron is winding down to a close. This time we tried something different with our sessions. Our goal was to have an open atmosphere where attendees could ask questions at any point. We also included a panel of experts with each session in order to offer a variety of opinions and better interaction with the audience. We really wanted to give our attendees some practical information to take home with them. It seems to have worked. The questions and interaction flowed in a natural manor. The audience seemed to appreciate the openness and the special attention given to their questions.

On another front, our headline speaker, Jake Baillie, made a prediction that organic search results will eventually be a thing of the past. Jake said that Yahoo! has already crossed the line by eliminating organic results for several competitive phrases. Unfortunately, he didn’t have time to show us the examples which he had in mind, but I have no reason to doubt him. PPC and Paid inclusion are a fact of life in some search engines.

The question that we’re left with: Will Google do evil? Will they cave in and follow suit?

I’m sure that many will disagree with Jake’s prediction. What do you think?
